For years I have seen advertisements for Whitetail Deer hunts at high fence
preserves costing thousands of dollars. I have never understood this practice,
but I won't waste your time condemning it. I'm, sure that type of hunt has its
place and its supporter's, but it's just not my "cup of tea".
Our
deer hunts are for those people who share the same feelings as I do.To me, the
adventure is way more important than the kill. The land we use has very low hunting
pressure with about 800 acres adjacent to it which as " no access" at
all, not even to us. This allows the deer to reach their full maturity which is
the hardest thing to accomplish in WV ( a majority of the bucks taken during our
"bucks only" season are only 1 1/2 years old.) There are feeders, food
plots and a huge cornfield that provides all the nutrition they need. And finally
we are in the area that for years has always yielded large racks: the Ohio River
Valley. Plus we've actually seen trophy size bucks swimming the Ohio River onto
our property!
What does this mean to you? You still have the opportunity
to take that "wall hanger" but at a much lower price. You'll have to
work a littler harder for it and spend a little more time in the woods but isn't
that what hunting is all about? And at our prices, it will actually cost your
less!
There are also several areas with thousands of acres that we
have access to where hunting is limited to archery or muzzleloader only. We can
go by boat, horseback, or back packing. A true "back county" wilderness
hunt with the same record book class bucks within your reach.
Bring your
bow, muzzleloader or riffle, and pick your area and we will do everything possible
to help you take that "buck of a lifetime"!
